A 25-year-old Mumbai man on Wednesday allegedly killed his neighbour for playing loud music outside his house and refusing to lower the volume when requested. The incident was reported from the Malwani area, police said.
On Wednesday, Surendra Kumar Gunnar, sat outside his shanty, playing some songs on a recorder, cops said. His neighbour, Saif Ali Chand Ali Sheikh, was apparently disturbed by the sound and asked Gunnar to lower the volume. But Gunnar turned down the request, reported The Times of India.
This irked Sheikh, who hit Gunnar and shoved him to the floor. The attack made Gunnar bleed profusely and he fell unconscious. “He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead,” an officer said.
Sheikh was later arrested and charged under Indian Penal Code Section 302 (murder) and other relevant provisions.

Sec 302 IPC states that Whoever commits murder shall be punished with death or imprisonment for life, and shall also be liable to fine.”In other words, the Indian Penal Code prescribes only two kinds of punishment, death sentence and imprisonment for life, out of which one shall be imposed on the accused if found guilty of the crime and shall also be liable for fine if the court so deems necessary.
