A 14-year-old Christian girl in Faisalabad was reportedly abducted and gang-raped by Muslim men for not reciting Kalima. The news caused outrage on social media with users demanding severe punishment of the culprits.
According to viral reports on social media, a 14-year-old Christian girl, identified as Sunita Masih, was abducted and gang-raped by Muslim men in Malkhanwala area of Faisalabad. The suspects also tortured the victim to recite the Kalima.
When the victim refused, the suspects reportedly shaved her head. The incidence of sexual abuse and forced conversion of teenage Christian girls is on the rise in Pakistan.
Social media users have strongly condemned the rape and inhumane treatment of teenager Sunita Masih and demanded immediate action from the government against the accused.
On the other hand, police officials in Faisalabad rejected the news regarding the rape and denied that any such incident took place in the city.
Faisalabad CPO Mohammad Sohail Chaudhry in a statement said, “Fake news is circulating on social media platforms that a girl has been raped and forced to convert to Islam in Faisalabad.”
He said “This was verified and it was found out that facts are contrary and the incident is related to Sukkur District,” he said in a statement, adding that SSP Sukkur Irfan Samoo had also corroborated it.
